Emma & Paul’s autumn wedding at The Bear of Rodborough

ride room by The Bear of Rodborough Hotel

For her autumn wedding Emma had chosen a selection of colours to reflect the time of year, they were all colours that I love too. She also included sunflowers in her bouquet and her bridesmaid’s flowers and in Paul’s buttonhole too. A great combination.

I shot a few pictures in the garden of the wedding venue before going up to the bridal suite to say “Hi” to Emma. The spacious lawn at The Bear of Rodborough is lined with trees on two sides and as the sun glinted through them they showed their stunning autumn colours. This was a fantastic day for a wedding!

Emma loves bold colours and this was reflected in her choice of sashes for the seat covers supplied by Butterfly Creations The variety of colours worked well in the Terrace Room which looked very pretty ‘topped off’ with a red carpet. This room at the hotel is ideal for small, intimate weddings and easily accommodated the couples’ forty guests.

After catching up with Emma and taking a few pictures of Amber, the excited flower girl and Katy the bridesmaid I tracked down Paul and Matt his bestman. This was the first time Matt had been a best man and I think it’s fair to say that he was just as nervous as Paul! “Did I have any tips?” he asked me. “Just enjoy the day” I replied although I was a little concerned when he told me hadn’t prepared his speech yet …

Everyone did enjoy the day of course even Archie, Emma & Paul’s little lad who was none too sure about what was happening. He wanted to be with his Daddy and stuck to him like glue after the Ceremony. Fortunately by the time I took Emma & Paul away for a few minutes to take their pictures, little Archie was a lot happier. I even got pictures of him with his sister standing next to one of the bears in the hotel reception … and he was laughing! As you can see from the last picture, by the end of the afternoon Archie was a very happy boy sat on his Daddy’s knee scoffing cake.

I can’t finish this Blog without mentioning the two youngest guests both of whom were so well behaved I didn’t hear a peep out of them all the time I was there. Ronnie, Emma & Paul’s newest addition to the family is just a few weeks old and his cousin is only slightly older. You’ll spot a few pictures of them here. Ronnie along with Harry aged two and Tommy, three, definitely take this year’s prize as the cutest pageboys.

Thank you Emma & Paul for choosing me to photograph your autumn wedding at The Bear, I loved it!
