It’s not the first time I’ve shot an Intimate Wedding but I hadn’t been asked to be a witness before. I was delighted when Linda & Chris asked me and very pleased to do that for this lovely couple.
Calcot Manor is the perfect setting for a wedding and the lounge in the Main House is ideal for a small wedding party. Linda & Chris’s was certainly that as just the two of them, along with the Registrar, Superintendent, two members of staff and myself helped them to celebrate their wedding.
After the Ceremony Deborah and her colleague quickly went to the hotel entrance whilst I scuttled round by the garden in time to take pictures of the couple being showered with confetti. It worked perfectly. We then went inside where there was champagne waiting. Now that was a treat! I don’t usually get to have a drink at that early a stage in the proceedings! I’m sure the same goes for Deborah & her colleague too.
Linda & Chris had arranged to have their celebration meal in the hotel’s conservatory restaurant but had given me almost two hours in which to take pictures. Another rare treat. So lovely to have plenty of time to photograph the bride & groom … and with no-one else around.
These photos tell the story of Linda & Chris’s wedding day. Not too many outside as it was quite chilly so we photographed in The Gumstool Inn (part of Calcot hotel), also by the log fire adjacent to the outdoor hot tub and in the 14th century Barn. When we got back to the lounge there waiting for us was a very welcome pot of tea accompanied by delicious carrot cake. What a great way to finish after a photoshoot!
Thank you Linda & Chris for choosing me to photograph your very special day. You chose to have an Intimate Wedding at Calcot Manor and I’m delighted that everything went exactly as you planned. Many, many congratulations.
