Family photoshoots are great fun especially when everyone can go outdoors. During the winter there’s no pretending the weather will be warm so it’s essential that everyone wraps up well including me!
The first photoshoot was at the stylish Calcot Manor; perfect for a family get-together especially if there is a special birthday to celebrate. The beautiful grounds looked stunning coated in a hard frost and with the wintry sun breaking through the trees I knew I was going to get some great shots.
There was no getting away from it though, it was a chilly morning so before long we all headed inside the hotel where there was a lovely welcoming fire and tea and coffee to warm us all up. This gave me the opportunity to take some informal shots too which is a nice mix to include with the group shots.
The weather the next day for my second family photoshoot was great too. I suggested Stratford Park in Stroud as it’s full of interesting features and I knew the children especially would enjoy the open spaces – the spotty dog did too!
I can’t resist using the arches particularly when there are quite a few people in the group. The children loved the arches and started doing various poses – brilliant!
We also had good fun on the very large fallen tree, fortunately no-one fell off, not even the dog …
