Roz and I were at Uni together and hadn’t seen one another since we graduated in 2003. We’d kept in touch through Facebook though, however it was a great surprise when she called me to ask if I would like to photograph her wedding in Bath. Would I like to …I was thrilled! This was going to be a double delight as one of Roz’s bridesmaids was Elin, our Norwegian friend, another mate from Uni.
A few weeks before the wedding I went over to meet Roz and Andy to go through the wedding plans. I could tell straightaway that they were made for one another. On a scale of one to ten on how excited they were about getting married, it was a definite ten!
It was an easy choice to have their wedding at The Guildhall in Bath. It’s an impressive Georgian building in the middle of the city. The Ceremony took place in what was a courtroom and is full of character. The building has a fabulous backdrop of Bath Abbey and just round the corner is Parade Gardens where we went for pictures after the Ceremony.
Thanks to Uncle Brian & Aunty Linda, Ian, the bestman and I enjoyed an interesting journey out of Bath to The Old Crown Inn at Kelston for the Reception. This was a great choice for the Reception. Lovely garden, good food and great beer – perfect! The marquee looked so pretty decorated in a country style with jars of flowers, candles and bunting. I must also mention the two talented musicians Dan Pert & Set Guettier who played two sets during the first part of the evening, they were brilliant.
Together with the music, lovely people and a beautiful setting, this was a really relaxed evening, just what Roz and Andy wanted. Lots of opportunities for me as I was able to take shots of people chilling out, enjoying themselves. I loved taking pictures of the first dance too – Roz and Andy you did a great job.
A huge thank you to both of you for inviting me to take your wedding pictures. I was thrilled as you know and so pleased to be included in your thank you’s. I was very touched for you to say that I had captured the spirit of your day and that you will cherish your photos forever. What more could I ask?
My love, huge congratulations and best wishes to you both.
