It was a beautiful morning as I drove up the steep hill just outside Stroud to the family’s house. There was a white blanket of frost lying on the fields and so my guess was that we wouldn’t be taking the family pictures outside, it was just too cold. Fortunately the lounge at the house was quite spacious and with a little moving of furniture we were off.
As the family were going to a hotel nearby to celebrate Peter & his wife’s special birthday I knew the photoshoot needed to be finished by 11.00 and I certainly wasn’t going to delay them. I took a combination of groups and made full use of the rocking horse with the children. The youngest was only 19 months and so I knew I had to be on the ball with him!
Using one room means that the setting isn’t as variable as being outside but I did nevertheless ring the changes again with moving a few things around. The family were very happy with the pictures as a memento of their get-together to celebrate two very special birthdays and they thoroughly enjoyed the lunch party too.
Thank you for inviting me to take pictures of your family and for being so welcoming. You made it all very enjoyable. Have a great celebration on your birthdays.
